The community of bloggers at Agora Americana share impressions of tonight’s debate: “I’m a bit torn in the sense that on the one hand Obama was constantly on the defensive from McCain’s attacks, but on the other, his excellent responses made McCain look like someone who either didn’t know what he was talking about or who was intentionally lying.”
Reuben remarks, “You know the drill: 9:00 EST debate, a maverick and a dashing young change-maker, and a withered old newsman asking them questions they’ll pretend to answer,” inviting readers to “join in our digital town hall and chat with us. We’re cooler. And we’ll answer your questions.”
Reuben remarks, “The only way Palin could be seen as winning this is by playing the expectations game. She did so badly in her Couric interview that there was nowhere to go but up. Nonetheless, she stuck to her talking points and didn’t answer questions as directly as Biden did – he, at many times, answered questions beginning with a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ something I much appreciated.”
